Inclusive Education Drive: Assessment Camp for CWSN Held at MHSs Chandoosa

Today, on 06-10-2025, the Department of Education under Samagra Shiksha J&K, in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), under the overall supervision of the Chief Education Officer Baramulla, organized an Assessment-cum-Measurement Camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) at Government MHSs Chandoosa.

The camp witnessed active participation of CWSN from the twin frontier zones of Chandoosa and Wagoora. The programme aimed to identify, assess, and recommend assistive devices, gadgets, and tools for children with special needs to facilitate inclusive education and overall development.

A team of experts from ALIMCO, along with special educators from Baramulla, conducted the assessment of the children. Each child was carefully examined, and recommendations were made for customized aids and appliances, including hearing aids, mobility devices, educational kits, and other supportive equipment. Online registration of all eligible students was also carried out on the spot to ensure timely delivery of support.

The event was attended by Zonal Education Officer Chandoosa, Smt. Harmeet Kour; Cluster Head MHSS Chandoosa, Mr. Sajad Hussain Shah; DNO Inclusive Education Baramulla, Mr. Tariq Hussain Manhas; ZNO IE, Mr. Bilal Ahmad Lone; ZNO IE Wagoora, Mr. Mohammad Rafi Malik; and Cluster Point Persons Mr. Arif Ahmad and Mr. Arshad Ahmad.

The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of Samagra Shiksha and ALIMCO for reaching frontier areas and ensuring that no child with special needs is left behind in education.

Speaking on the occasion, ZEO Chandoosa Smt. Harmeet Kour highlighted the department’s commitment to the welfare of CWSN. She said, “Our priority is to provide equitable opportunities and an enabling environment to every child. Camps like this bring us closer to the vision of inclusive education.”

The camp concluded with the distribution of refreshments among all participating children. Parents and guardians expressed gratitude to the department and collaborating agencies for organizing such a meaningful and supportive initiative at the doorstep of frontier communities.
