Aga Ruhullah Criticises Delay in Resolving Student Issues, Warns of Fresh Agitation

Srinagar: National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Tuesday criticised the government for what he described as prolonged delays in resolving issues faced by students, particularly those linked to Vaishno Devi University admissions. In a detailed statement, he said the uncertainty has caused deep distress among aspiring youths who, according to him, are being left in a state of hopelessness.Political campaign merchandise

He said students were repeatedly assured that their matter would be settled within six months, yet a year has passed without clarity. He added that a fresh assurance given ahead of the Budgam Assembly election also failed to yield any outcome and that the promised resolution within a few days has stretched beyond a month.

Ruhullah questioned who would compensate students for the academic years lost and the vacancies that are no longer available. He said the issue concerns the careers of hundreds of young people and should not be influenced by personal differences or political considerations.

Stating that he would withdraw himself from the matter if required, he urged authorities to meet the affected students and take rational decisions. He said that if the issue remains unresolved by the conclusion of the Parliament session on December 20, he will join the students in protest, adding that any future agitation will be longer than the one held last December.
