Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Addresses Critical Socio-Economic Issues in Friday Sermon at Imambargah Hassanabad
In a powerful Friday sermon at the historic Imambargah Hassanabad, Srinagar, renowned religious scholar and community leader Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi highlighted major challenges facing the people of Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on youth unemployment and the rising cases of domestic violence.
Addressing a large gathering, Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi expressed concern over the government’s failure to fill more than 18,000 vacant posts in various departments despite repeated assurances. He reminded the audience of the administration’s election promise to provide one lakh jobs to youth in the initial phase of governance, a commitment yet to be fulfilled.
“The youth of Kashmir are talented, educated, and eager to contribute to nation-building. Yet, thousands of sanctioned posts lie vacant while our young men and women face despair and uncertainty. This is not just an administrative failure, it is a betrayal of trust,” Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi said.
He noted that prolonged unemployment is leading to frustration, mental health problems, and social unrest among youth. He urged the authorities to conduct transparent recruitment drives and fulfill their promises without further delay.
In a separate appeal, Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi raised concern over the sharp rise in domestic violence across Kashmiri society. He described it as a “silent epidemic” that is weakening the moral and family fabric of the community.
“Our homes must be sanctuaries of peace, compassion, and mutual respect, not places of fear and oppression. The increasing incidents of domestic abuse, especially against women and children, demand immediate collective action,” he said.
He urged religious leaders, civil society, law enforcement agencies, and families to break the silence, support victims, and promote counseling and awareness programs guided by Islamic principles of justice, mercy, and family harmony.
The sermon ended with a prayer for guidance, prosperity, and protection for the people of Kashmir. He called on the community to remain united in faith and committed to justice.
