An open letter to Honorable Education Minister Jammu and Kashmir ( madam Sakina Itoo Sahiba)

Honourable Madam ,

With profound respect and deep regard for your chair it is humbly requested that most of our Higher Secondary Schools have staff dearth which results in suffering of academic work and subsequently low results . In previous session it was observed that some HSS of Kulgam were without Subject Specific Lecturers that has adversely impacted the results of class 11th and 12th.
Undoubtedly you have been doing a tremendous job by overhauling the basic infrastructure of the schools across the Union Territory, but mere constructions would not yeild desired results untill and unless we have staff in schools.
Moreover, most of our HSS are without multipurpose halls( M.P Halla) that are very crucial to the cocurricular activity implementation in education system. Because, most of the times weather doesn’t allow to conduct morning assembly, debates, discussions, Quiz Program es in open grounds either due exteme cold or heat waves.
So, it is requested that construction of M.P Halls in High and Higher secondary schools be given first priority and fundes be released in favour of such schools.

Further, there has been a communication gap between school management and parent community of govt. Schools which adversely affects the overall monitering and assessment of children.
So, the constitution of school management committees has become inevitable. Most of the times parents are aware about the activities of their wards inside schools and most of times teachers are not well informed about the activities of children at home. Which creates a vaccum between teachers and parents that is misused by innocent students.
Parent- Teacher meets and other such connectivity programs be organised in govt. schools .
A comparative analysis be done between the state schools of Jammu and Kashmir and CBSE affiliated schools of UT like JNVs, KVs, EMRs, Sanik Schools and others.
Inter- borad comtetions be organised so that the spirit of competition among students is inculcated and an interaction among different students communities is made possible.
Hope, your esteemed ministery will take into consideration my modest proposals and the overall education system of Jammu and Kashmir in general and Kulgam District is improved and updated.

With Regards
Mohd ISHAQ SHAH
A Teacher by profession
