Bandipora, Jan 14: Sahiba Shakeel, the visually impaired girl from Ajas village in Bandipora who had earlier inspired many with her stellar performance in the Class 10 examinations, has once again proven her academic mettle by scoring 418 out of 500 marks in the Class 12 results declared today.
Now 17, Sahiba—who has a 90 percent visual impairment—has consistently defied personal, social, and financial odds to emerge as a symbol of perseverance and determination. Her latest achievement builds on her earlier success, when she had secured 409 marks in her Class 10 exams, drawing widespread admiration.
Born into a modest household, Sahiba is the daughter of Shakeel Ahmad Rather, an auto-rickshaw driver, while her mother is a homemaker. Despite limited resources and the absence of formal coaching facilities, Sahiba remained focused on her studies, relying on alternative learning methods and unwavering family support.
