Baramulla Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers at Faqir Bagh, Charas Recovered

Baramulla, 7 January 2026

Baramulla Police, continuing its drive against the drug menace, apprehended two individuals during naka checking at Faqir Bagh.

During preliminary enquiry, the arrested persons were identified as

  1. Nisar Ahmad Malla, son of Ghulam Mohammad Malla, resident of Doudbugh Chandoosa
  2. Mohammad Ashraf Malla, son of Ghulam Qadir Malla, resident of Doudbugh Chandoosa

On personal search, police recovered 467 grams of charas like powder and one mobile phone from the possession of Nisar Ahmad Malla. From Mohammad Ashraf Malla, 33 grams of charas like substance, net cash amounting to rupees 7,240, and one mobile phone were recovered.

In this connection, FIR No. 01 of 2026 under Sections 8, 20, and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chandoosa. Further investigation is underway.

Baramulla Police reiterates its zero tolerance policy against drug trafficking and appeals to the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to narcotics activities.
