Srinagar, Mar 08 (KB): An underage girl kidnapped by a person one year before, has been located by Jammu and Kashmir Police, and reunited with her family, an official in the knowhow of things said on Saturday.
“The girl (name withheld) was kidnapped last year and wasn’t found till now despite unrelenting efforts by the law enforcement agencies and her family,” the official told news agency Kashmir Bulletin.
“On receipt of a missing report, the SSP Budgam had constituted a team to locate the girl, and the efforts though time-consuming finally yielded and the girl recovered from Magam area,” the official said, “upon examining her condition, the girl was reunited with her family.”
“The accused involved in the act of kidnapping the underage girl, has been arrested and action as warranted under law is being taken against him,” the official said further.
Meanwhile, the family of the girl have extended their gratitude to Budgam Police, especially to SSP concerned, and other law enforcement agencies for reuniting them with their beloved. (KB)
