Cyber Police Arrest Terminated Professor and Journalist in Objectionable Content Case

Srinagar, May 22:

Cyber Police Srinagar today arrested Dr. Abdul Waseem alias Bari, a terminated professor from Kulgam currently residing in Natipora, and journalist Asifa Bashir of Chattabal. The duo is allegedly involved in uploading and disseminating objectionable content on social media.
The arrests were made in connection with FIR No. 06/2025 under Sections 67 and 67-A of the IT Act, and Sections 75(3), 79, and 356(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Dr. Waseem has been handed over to Police Station Shergari, while Asifa Bashir has been sent to the Women’s Police Station Rambagh for further investigation.
