Five Arrested in Khayam Chowk Assault Case: Srinagar Police


Srinagar, August 4 (GNS): In a decisive action against social crimes, Srinagar Police have arrested five individuals in connection with a violent assault that occurred during the intervening night of August 3 and 4, 2025, at Khayam Chowk in the Khanyar area.

According to a police handout shared with GNS, the accused were allegedly involved in creating a public disturbance and physically assaulting several persons in the locality.

Acting swiftly, Police Station Khanyar registered FIR No. 40/2025 under Sections 109, 115(2), 126(2), and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

During the investigation, all five accused were identified and subsequently arrested. Police also seized two vehicles allegedly used in the commission of the crime — a Mahindra Scorpio N and a Toyota Glanza — as part of the ongoing probe.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Faheem Ahmad Khan, son of Mohd. Ayub Khan, resident of Botshah Mohalla, Lal Bazar, Srinagar
  • Talat Hassan, son of Ghulam Hassan Dhar, resident of Housing Colony, Chanapora, Srinagar
  • Nadeem Malik, son of Bashir Ahmad Malik, resident of Natipora, Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar
  • Amir Rashid Molvi, son of Abdul Rashid Molvi, resident of Jogilanker, Rainawari, Srinagar
  • Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh, son of Sheikh Nazir Ahmed, resident of Ikhrajpora, Rajbagh, Srinagar

Further investigation is ongoing.
