Habakadal Blaze in Srinagar Leaves Three Injured, Six Homes Damaged : F&E J&k

Srinagar 10 Feb.. // A fire call was received by the State Fire Control Room at 10:32 PM, and within a minute, fire tenders from Fire Station Habakadal, Babdem, Gowkadal, Headquarters, and Syed Hameed Pora were turned out to the spot.

Considering the highly congested nature of the locality, additional reinforcement from Fire Stations Maharaj Gunj, Rainawari, Safakadal, Rawalpora, Nowshhera, and Nowgam was also dispatched to effectively combat the blaze.

During the firefighting operation, Fireman Fameed Ahmad (FM-1853) sustained grievous hand injuries and was immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Two civilians also sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for medical care.

Approximately two to three gas cylinders burst, as a result of which six residential houses sustained damage, limited only to their attic portions.

The operation was supervised on the spot by Deputy Director, Fire & Emergency Services, Dr. Mir Aqib Hussain, while Aijaz Ahmad Shah was present to ensure mobility and coordination.

ADGP Alok kumar IPS urged general Public to remain cautios while operating electrical applinces and LPG cooking gases.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is under investigation.
