Srinager, April 22 : The Justice and Development Front (JDF) has strongly condemned the recent attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, calling it a “barbaric and cowardly” act of violence. The incident, which has left the people of Kashmir deeply shocked and heartbroken, is seen as an assault not only on the victims but on the very soul of the region.
In a statement issued by the President of JDF, Mr. Shamim Ah Thoker, the organization expressed its outrage, emphasizing that this attack goes against everything Kashmir and its people stand for. “The Holy Quran says: ‘Whoever kills an innocent person, it is as if he has killed all of humanity.’ This heinous act violates the very essence of humanity and Kashmiriyat, the cherished tradition of peace, hospitality, and warmth that our region is known for,” said Thoker.
The JDF reiterated that the perpetrators of this crime do not represent the values or the spirit of the Kashmiri people. “As Kashmiris, we are filled with a profound sense of shame and grief. These criminals are not a reflection of us,” Thoker added.
The party offered its deepest condolences to the victims and their families, affirming its unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and the values that define true Kashmiriyat. “We stand united in condemning this inhuman act and remain steadfast in our resolve to uphold the ideals of peace and harmony for which Kashmir has always been known,” concluded the statement.
The JDF has called on the authorities to bring those responsible for this attack to justice and ensure that such acts of violence do not tarnish the reputation of the region or its people.(ROK)
