Sopore, North Kashmir In a moment of immense pride for Jammu and Kashmir, Sufeena Bano, an educator from Sopore, has etched her name among the nation’s Top 10 Teaching Innovators by being honoured as a National TLM Champion at the prestigious National TLM League 2025.
The grand finale, hosted at the iconic Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, was organised by The Teacher App, an initiative of the Bharti Airtel Foundation, in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Education and various State Education Departments. The competition witnessed an overwhelming response with over 5,000 entries from across India, making Bano’s achievement truly exceptional.

Her innovative approach to Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs) stood out through a rigorous three-tier selection process, where only 36 educators nationwide qualified for the final round, and just ten were declared national champions. Representing the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Sufeena Bano emerged as a powerful symbol of the region’s growing excellence in education, alongside winners from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Punjab.
In recognition of her achievement, she received a comprehensive prize package, including awards, a cash prize, supplementary gifts, air travel, accommodation, and hospitality. Adding to this honour, she was also invited as a distinguished panelist, where she shared valuable insights on educational innovation and proudly voiced the perspectives of teachers from Jammu and Kashmir on a national platform.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by eminent dignitaries, including Lt. Col. Jitendra Verma (OSD, Education & Skill Development, NITI Aayog), Manoj Kumar Srivastava (Director–Training, CBSE), Arun Kapur (Director, Pallavan Learning Systems), and Rakesh Bharti Mittal (Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises & Bharti Airtel Foundation).
Sufeena Bano’s achievement is not just a personal milestone but a testament to the untapped potential, resilience, and innovation of educators from Kashmir. Her success serves as an inspiration for teachers and students alike, reaffirming that dedication and creativity can place Kashmir on the national map of educational excellence.
