Kulgam Labourer Beaten in Punjab After Reporting Missing Walnut Box

Punjab / 01 Dec :. A labourer from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district was allegedly assaulted in Ludhiana, Punjab, after he reported that one of his walnut boxes had gone missing during transportation.

The victim, who has worked in Punjab for more than two decades, said he had handed over 14 boxes of walnut and three bags in Jammu for transport. When he reached Ludhiana, he found only 13 boxes.

“When I asked the person about the missing box, three more individuals arrived and started beating me,” he said. He added that in his 20 years of working in the area, he had never faced such a situation.

The labourer thanked the Ludhiana Police for their quick response. “I am very thankful to the Ludhiana Police, and I request SSP Ludhiana to take strict action against those involved,” he said.

He also urged the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene and ensure justice in the case.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident. Further investigation is in progress.
