Pulwama, Save Youth Save Future (SYSF) in collaboration with the District Administration Pulwama and the Social Welfare Department Pulwama has launched a comprehensive Drug Awareness Campaign covering over 50 schools, colleges, and coaching institutes across the district.
The campaign goes beyond traditional awareness speeches—it aims to create tangible and lasting change among the youth. As part of this unique initiative, voting-based elections are being conducted in each institution to elect a Head Boy and Head Girl. These elected representatives will work closely with the administration to identify and report any instances or symptoms of drug abuse among students.
Upon receiving such reports, the administration will take prompt and appropriate measures, including counselling or rehabilitation, to ensure that affected students receive the necessary support and guidance.
The first event of this campaign was recently held successfully at KCEF Law College, Pulwama. The response from students and faculty was overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming the community’s collective resolve to fight drug abuse.
In institutions such as GDC Boys Pulwama, where active anti-drug units are already functioning, the SYSF team will guide and coordinate with these units to ensure weekly or monthly progress reports are regularly shared and monitored.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from SYSF Anika Nazir, Jasib Shabir and Rasik Ahmad expressed confidence that this mission will bring a positive transformation across Pulwama “In Sha Allah, with collective effort and administrative support, we will move closer to a drug-free Pulwama,” they said.
