MeT Predicts Light Snowfall in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 7: The Meteorological Department on Sunday said that the weather across Kashmir is expected to remain generally cloudy but dry over December 6 and 7, with a brief spell of light snowfall likely at isolated places in the higher reaches on Monday.

According to the MeT office, higher reaches of north and central Kashmir may witness light snowfall on December 8, while the plains are likely to remain dry during this period. Officials said there is no forecast of widespread precipitation, and weather conditions are expected to remain largely stable.

The MeT department advised people, particularly those travelling to higher altitude areas, to remain cautious in view of the expected snowfall, even though it is likely to be brief and light in nature. [KNT]
