Press Statement
Issued by: Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Safavi
Date: September 06, 2025
Location: Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir
In a powerful address to a large gathering at M.K. Chowk, Hawal, Srinagar, marking the commencement of Hafta Wahdat on the 12th of Rabi ul Awal, Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Safavi stressed the critical importance of Muslim unity in confronting global challenges.
Aga Syed Mujtaba stated: “Had the Muslims of the world remained united, Israel would never have dared to occupy the legitimate land of Palestine or commit crimes against humanity over the past seven decades. Today’s dire situation in Gaza—where even children are being killed through deliberate food blockades—would never have arisen.”
He strongly condemned the administration’s decision to alter the gazetted holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) from its actual date, calling it a grave insult to the entire Muslim community of Kashmir.
Expressing deep concern over the installation of the national emblem at religious sites such as Asaar-e-Sharief Hazratbal, he said that while the emblem deserves respect under the law, placing it at sacred sites amounts to a deliberate attempt by Waqf authorities to undermine the sanctity of Hazratbal and provoke public sentiment. He demanded immediate legal action against those responsible for such misuse of the national emblem at places of worship.
Concluding his address, Aga Syed Mujtaba urged all Muslims to foster unity and stand firm against any attempts to weaken their faith and heritage.
