NIA Court Declares Hizb Chief Syed Salah Ud Din as Absconder, Issues Proclamation

Srinagar, July 25 (GNS): A Special Designated Court under the NIA Act in Srinagar has issued a proclamation requiring the appearance of Mohammad Yousuf Shah alias Syed Salah Ud Din, son of Ghulam Rasool Shah, resident of Soibugh, Budgam, in connection with serious charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).

According to a handout issued to GNS by the NIA, court records indicate that a challan has been filed alleging that the accused has committed offenses punishable under Sections 13 and 18 of the UAPA and Section 505 of the RPC, in Case FIR No. 64/2012 registered at Police Station Zakura.

Despite a warrant for his arrest, authorities have been unable to locate the accused, who is believed to have absconded or is deliberately concealing his whereabouts to evade arrest.

In view of these developments, the court has officially declared him an absconder and issued a proclamation requiring his appearance before the court on or before 30th August 2025 to respond to the charges.

Failure to appear may result in further legal action, including proceedings under Sections 82 and 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which pertain to the attachment of an absconder’s property.

Srinagar Police has appealed to the public for any information regarding the accused’s whereabouts and urged cooperation in the interest of justice and public safety. (GNS)
