On this solemn day, we remember and pay rich tribute to Late Sheikh Mohammed Sadiq, former State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party ( and a resident of Dodbugh, Baramulla.
Sheikh Mohammed Sadiq was a founding member of the PDP and a very close associate of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, former Union Home Minister of India and Chief Minister of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir. He played an important role in strengthening democratic politics in the region.
During his political journey, Sheikh Mohammed Sadiq contested various Assembly and Parliamentary elections, reflecting his commitment to public service and the democratic process. His contribution to the political life of Jammu and Kashmir remains significant and widely acknowledged.
Tragically, Sheikh Mohammed Sadiq was assassinated by militants on 01-01-2002. His martyrdom was a great loss not only to his family and party but also to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
On his death anniversary, we remember his sacrifice, dedication, and lifelong service to the people. His legacy of courage and commitment to democratic values will continue to inspire generations to come.
