Baramulla:09 jan, 2026
In a continued effort to safeguard public spaces and protect the youth from the growing menace of drugs, PDP Youth Leader Yasir Naik has exposed multiple locations in Baramulla where drug abuse was found taking place openly. These locations include prominent public areas such as Carriapa Park and Chowk Baramulla, which are meant for families, children, and general public use.
Yasir Naik stated that the objective of exposing these locations through video documentation is not publicity, but accountability. “Public places cannot be allowed to turn into safe zones for drug abuse. These spaces belong to citizens, not drug peddlers,” he said. He further added that drugs and corruption remain the biggest barriers to development in Baramulla and must be confronted openly.
Following sustained efforts and intervention by PDP Youth Leader Yasir Naik, the authorities have approved the installation of Hi-Tech CCTV Cameras at the exposed locations. The move is aimed at strict monitoring, deterrence, and prevention of illegal activities, including drug consumption and related criminal acts.
Yasir Naik welcomed the approval and emphasized that monitoring alone is not enough. “This is a positive step, but continuous vigilance, enforcement, and community participation are equally important to make Baramulla drug-free,” he said.
He appealed to the administration to ensure timely installation and proper monitoring of the CCTV cameras and urged the public, especially youth, to come forward and support the fight against drugs and corruption for a safer and healthier Baramulla.
