Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir – A viral video from Ratnipora, Pulwama, featuring two girls claiming they were kidnapped but managed to escape, has now been exposed as a hoax. The girls had alleged that they were abducted by unidentified individuals and resisted their captors before breaking free. The video sparked widespread concern, prompting local authorities to investigate the incident. However, in a shocking twist, the father of one of the girls has come forward, stating that the entire story was fabricated.
According to the father, the girls concocted the kidnapping tale to avoid attending school and misled their families as well as the public. “No such incident took place. They made us all fool to escape their academic responsibilities,” he said. The revelation has left the community in disbelief, with many expressing anger over the misuse of serious allegations for personal gain. Local officials have confirmed that no evidence of kidnapping was found during their probe.
Authorities are now urging the public to verify facts before sharing sensitive claims on social media, as false reports can cause unnecessary panic and divert police resources. Meanwhile, the families involved are addressing the matter privately, emphasizing the need for better communication with children to prevent such incidents in the future.
