In a shocking incident, 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousuf from Upper Chitral was fatally shot in her residence in Islamabad’s G-13/1 sector on Monday, June 2, 2025, within the jurisdiction of Sumbal Police Station. According to police reports, unidentified assailants broke into her home, opened fire, and fled the scene after killing her on the spot. The tragic event, which occurred just a day after Sana celebrated her 17th birthday, has left her family, friends, and online community in mourning. Authorities have moved her body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a postmortem examination and are actively investigating, with CCTV footage being reviewed and evidence collected from the scene. While the motive remains unclear, police are exploring all possibilities, including personal enmity or targeted violence linked to her online presence, with some reports suggesting an honour-based crime. The killing has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with calls for swift justice and increased protection for content creators in Pakistan.
