State Health Agency Removes Shifa Medical Centre from PM-JAY Scheme

The State Health Agency (SHA) in Jammu and Kashmir has de-empanelled Shifa Medical Centre in Srinagar from the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and AB PM-JAY SEHAT schemes. This decision comes after the hospital’s contract expired, making it ineligible to provide cashless treatment under the scheme.

Patients covered under the scheme have been advised to seek treatment at other empanelled government and private hospitals. The public can verify the list of empanelled hospitals on the official website. The SHA has also set up a toll-free helpline (104) for beneficiaries to report any denial of treatment at empanelled hospitals.

The Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and AB PM-JAY SEHAT schemes aim to provide financial protection against catastrophic health expenditures and access to affordable and quality healthcare for all residents of Jammu and Kashmir ². The schemes offer a cover of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year, covering secondary and tertiary care, health services, and pre-existing conditions.

For further assistance, the public can contact the State Health Agency, Jammu and Kashmir.
