When War Destroys What Humanity Needs Most

✒️:. Sardar Angad singh

In the Era 2026, it has become evident that wars will never yield a favorable outcome; instead, humanity necessitates further innovations and investments in human welfare, particularly in the medical and educational sectors. I perceive the most vulnerable individuals as those lacking sufficient income, assets, or resources to meet fundamental needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare. These marginalized populations often feel disconnected from social, political, national, and international changes, including the outcomes of wars, power struggles, and conflicts, as they believe they have nothing to gain or lose from these events. I am disheartened by the rising number of daily casualties from chronic diseases, many of whom succumb not due to a lack of access to treatment, but rather due to their inability to continue their treatment, leaving their families emotionally and financially devastated.

Nevertheless, nations persist in prioritizing wars and proxy cultures, resulting in a situation where powerful nations wage wars on the territories of smaller nations, and some small nations exploit young men emotionally to fight for faith and justice. Meanwhile, the ruling leadership of these nations often demonstrate a lack of faith and justice in their governance and personal lives. As humans, we claim to be a civilized species, yet we fail to recognize our shared humanity, breathing the same air, living under the same sun, and relying on the same plants and trees for survival. We share numerous similarities, yet we still lack a genuine sense of coexistence, acknowledging that this world belongs to all its inhabitants. Whenever I witness wars, violence, and bloodshed, I ponder: Why can’t we create a society where justice, peace, stability, and the value of human life are paramount? We are all aware that our lives are limited, and no one is immortal. Why can’t we coexist and resolve our conflicts peacefully, rather than perpetuating problems for one another? Why do humans persist in competing with each other, knowing that our time on this earth is fleeting, and we will not be able to take any material possessions with us when we depart? Sometimes, I believe that humans have created our own problems, and if we were to acknowledge that every living being is a creation of a higher power, from trees and plants to animals, we would recognize our shared existence and strive to live in harmony. Why can’t we not only tolerate but also genuinely appreciate and respect each other’s existence, acknowledging that this world belongs to all of us? These words may seem idealistic, but I believe that whenever a soldier succumbs to war, they may reflect on this ideal world in their final moments. Perhaps when a mother sends her young son, a young bride sends her young groom, or an old father sends his young son to war, they contemplate this ideal world with heavy hearts. War, violence, and bloodshed are depleting human resources and lives.
