Srinagar, Apr 10 (KB): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bandipora on Thursday informed to have arrested eight members of separatist organisations for \u2018promoting militancy and secessionist activities\u2019 across the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eight individuals affiliated with various proscribed organisations during ongoing investigations into cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, reads a statement issued to media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operation, the statement as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin, reads was part of a district-wide crackdown aimed at curbing terror-related and separatist activities. \u201cRaids were conducted at multiple locations, leading to the arrest of suspects linked to banned outfits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn connection with Case FIR No. 04\/2024 of PS Bandipora, police arrested three members of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat J&K. They were identified as Nazir Ahmad Ahangar, son of Late Abdul Khaliq Ahangar, resident of Shahgund Hajin; Sheikh Danish Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Aloosa Bandipora; and Tahir Ahmad Mir, son of Late Habibullah Mir, resident of Ward 2 Plan Bandipora,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFrom PS Sumbal, in Case FIR Nos. 07 and 62\/2024, three more were apprehended. They include Ghulam Din War, son of Habib Ullah War, resident of Naidkhai and a member of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP); Khursheed Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Jamal Lone, resident of Naidkhai; and Mohammad Shafi Dar, son of Sonaullah Dar, resident of Karnai Mohalla Shahgund \u2014 both members of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFurther, in Case FIR No. 06\/2024 of PS Hajin, two persons affiliated with Tehreek-e-Hurriyat J&K were arrested. They are Ab Majeed Gojri, son of Gh Mohammad Gojri, and Ab Majeed Lone, son of Mohammad Maqbool Lone \u2014 both residents of Vigpara Hajin. Police recovered objectionable material, pamphlets, and electronic devices, including mobile phones, from them,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPreliminary investigations suggest that the arrested individuals remained actively involved in promoting terrorism and secessionism in Jammu and Kashmir, despite their affiliated organisations being banned under the UAPA,\u201d reads the statement, adding, \u201cThey were allegedly motivating local youth and recruiting new members (Rukuns) to further their agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese arrests are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle networks that threaten public order and national security,\u201d reads the statement, adding further that \u201cany individual found furthering the agenda of violence, disruption, or unlawful activities will face strict legal consequences.
