Srinagar , April 16: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has launched a stinging attack on the National Conference leadership following shocking revelations by former RAW Chief A.S. Dulat in his newly released book \u201cThe Chief Minister and the Spy.\u201d Dulat\u2019s claim that Dr. Farooq Abdullah privately endorsed the abrogation of Article 370 \u2014 even as he publicly condemned it \u2014 has sent shockwaves across political and public circles in Jammu & Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a strongly worded statement, Chief Spokesperson of AIP , Inam Un Nabi minced no words in holding the National Conference responsible for betraying the people of J&K.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe people of Jammu and Kashmir were stabbed in the back not by strangers, but by those who claimed to be their guardians. Dr. Farooq Abdullah\u2019s private endorsement of the abrogation of Article 370 \u2014 as exposed in A SDulat\u2019s book \u2014 confirms what the people have long suspected: National Conference was never a victim, but a silent collaborator,\u201d said Inam Un Nabi.
Drawing a stark comparison, Inam Un Nabi highlighted the hypocrisy and self-interest of NC leadership while praising the unflinching stand of jailed MP Engineer Rashid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhile the Abdullahs danced behind closed doors in BJP\u2019s corridors of power, Engineer Rashid was languishing in prison for speaking truth to power and refusing to barter his conscience for political crumbs. It is an irony of our times that traitors roam free and the people\u2019s hero remains behind bars,\u201d he added.
Inam Un Nabi went on to call out the legacy of deception practiced by NC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFrom backchannel deals to sham opposition, National Conference has perfected the art of deception. They masquerade as the defenders of Kashmir in public, while privately negotiating their political survival at the cost of our collective dignity,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AIP statement termed the Dulat revelations not just as a political scandal but a complete moral breakdown of NC politics in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is not merely a political scandal. It is a moral collapse. Engineer Rashid is behind bars today for being loyal to the people, for standing by Article 370 when others were busy securing favours.
