Growing up amid the orchards and hills of Narvaw, his childhood was shaped by strong community values, family support, and a quiet determination to build a meaningful life through education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Lone\u2019s schooling began at Islamia Model High School, Malpora Narvaw Baramulla, where he studied up to the 3rd standard. This humble beginning laid the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He continued from the 4th to the 9th standard at Islamia Model High School, Fatehgarh Narvaw Baramulla, known locally for its dedicated teachers and nurturing environment. His academic journey was marked not just by excellent grades but by the quiet dedication that would come to define him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the 10th standard, he moved to Noor-ul-Islam School, Sheeri, where he further demonstrated academic promise. He then pursued his 11th and 12th studies in the Science stream at Government Higher Secondary School, Baramulla \u2014 one of the district\u2019s premier institutions \u2014 balancing his studies with the daily commute from his native village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognizing the importance of a solid foundation in science, he enrolled at Government Degree College, Baramulla, where he successfully completed the first two years of his B.Sc. program. Even during this period, his ambition was clear: to enter the noble field of medicine and serve society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Entering the World of Medicine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2001, Dr. Abdul Quyoom Lone achieved what many in his community had only dreamed of \u2014 he secured admission into the prestigious Government Medical College Srinagar (GMC Srinagar) through a competitive entrance examination. This was a historic moment, as he became the first doctor from Narvaw whose entire basic schooling was done in local village schools to be selected into GMC Srinagar on merit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This milestone was not just personal \u2014 it was a moment of collective pride for Malpora, for Narvaw, and for every family that saw in his journey the transformative power of perseverance and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Medical Training and Specialization<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After completing his MBBS, Dr. Lone\u2019s passion for learning persisted. He undertook his residency and house jobs at two of Kashmir\u2019s premier medical institutions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>SMHS Hospital, Srinagar<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SKIMS Soura, Srinagar<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These formative years provided exposure to complex clinical cases and helped refine his diagnostic and surgical skills. His interest naturally gravitated toward the field of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery \u2014 a specialty requiring precision, patience, and empathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driven by this passion, Dr. Lone completed his postgraduate studies (MS) in ENT, Head and Neck Surgery from the Department of ENT at SMHS Hospital \/ GMC Srinagar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recognizing his capabilities and commitment, he was selected as a Medical Officer in J&amp;K Health Services through the Jammu &amp; Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) \u2014 a prestigious achievement that further validated his growing reputation as a dedicated doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Professional Career and Service<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the completion of his postgraduate studies, Dr. Lone began his formal service journey at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore under J&amp;K Health Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over three years at SDH Sopore, he performed hundreds of ENT surgeries, managed the outpatient department (OPD), and earned respect for his patient-centered care and clinical excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His growing experience led to his transfer to the Department of ENT at District Hospital Baramulla, where he served as Registrar and Senior Resident for three years \u2014 during the critical period of establishing the new Government Medical College Baramulla. Beyond patient care, he played a key role in mentoring young doctors and helping establish essential clinical services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, Dr. Lone is serving at the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Handwara, based at SDH Langate, where he continues to work as a trusted ENT specialist.
