{"id":4041,"date":"2025-07-08T15:26:45","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T15:26:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/noukeqalamnews.com\/en\/?p=4041"},"modified":"2025-07-08T15:55:41","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T15:55:41","slug":"girl-jumps-in-jhelum-reservoir-at-boniyar-rescue-operation-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/noukeqalamnews.com\/en\/girl-jumps-in-jhelum-reservoir-at-boniyar-rescue-operation-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"Girl Jumps in Jhelum Reservoir at Boniyar, Rescue Operation Underway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Khan Jahangeer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baramulla, July 8 (JKNS): A girl jumped into the Jhelum reservoir at Peerniya, Boniyar in north Kashmir\u2019s Baramulla district on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports reaching news agency JKNS that the incident took place at around 12:30 PM when the girl, accompanied by a boy, was spotted near the Damm reservoir site at Lower Jehlum Hydro Power Project in Preeniya Boniya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per initial reports, the girl suddenly jumped into the river and drowned in the water, while boy ran away from the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched by police teams led by SDPO Uri and SHO Boniyar, along with SDRF personnel. Efforts are underway to retrieve the body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is in progress.
