Srinagar, July 28: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar accused the PDP of betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir by enabling the BJP\u2019s entry into the region, resulting in a loss of dignity, democracy and constitutional protections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing party leaders, workers, and delegations from Tral, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Handwara, and Pulwama, Sagar claimed that the PDP and BJP had entered a covert pact well before the 2014 elections \u2014 a conspiracy, he alleged, that set the stage for the systematic dismantling of Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s special status and political autonomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe people of Jammu and Kashmir once lived with peace and dignity,\u201d Sagar declared. \u201cBut since 2015, they have been thrown into an era of pain and suppression. Those who once shouted slogans of peace and dignity have themselves presided over its funeral.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He directly blamed the PDP for inviting the BJP into power, which, he said, culminated in the bifurcation of the state, suppression of press and religious freedoms, and the replacement of a democratic structure with a bureaucratic regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reaffirming National Conference\u2019s unwavering resolve, Sagar said the party has always stood with the people and will continue its relentless struggle for the restoration of J&K\u2019s democratic and constitutional rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior leaders present at the gathering included Choudhry Muhammad Ramzan, South Zone President Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Minority Cell Convener Jagdish Singh Azad, Provincial Youth President Mushtaq Mir, Provincial Secretary Sheikh Ovase, and various block presidents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
