\u201cPrivate Teachers\u2019 Hard Work Finally Recognised In A Historic Move\u201d; Says President G.N. Var<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Srinagar, 05 Sep,2025: The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has warmly welcomed the J&K Government\u2019s Teachers\u2019 Day 2025 announcement of the \u201cAnnual Best Private Teachers Awards\u201d. The decision was announced today at SKICC Srinagar during the National Teachers\u2019 Day celebrations. The awards, starting from next year, will be dedicated to recognising and honouring the services of private school teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement issued to the press, PSAJK President G.N. Var expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, Secretary of the School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma, Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo and other senior officers \/ officials who worked diligently to ensure that the hard work and dedication of private school teachers are duly recognised. He called it a historic and landmark step towards acknowledging the contribution of the private education sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Var said \u201cThe decision of the J&K Government to introduce awards for private school teachers is a welcome and visionary step. For decades, our teachers have been working tirelessly, producing lakhs of capable students, nurturing toppers and shaping professionals who are now serving in important positions across various fields. This recognition will further motivate the teaching fraternity and strengthen the role of private schools in building a bright future for J&K.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Association also recalled that the first Teachers\u2019 Day celebration by private schools was organised in 2006, when the veteran educationist Late Dr. Agha Ashraf Ali was honoured with the title of \u201cTeacher of the Teachers Award.\u201d On the same occasion, the then Chairman Teachers Forum Ab Qayoom Wani was awarded on behalf of Govt teachers. It was subsequently followed by Non Conventional Teacher Award which was conferred upon Senior Counsel Zaffar A. Shah for his Outstanding contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe government\u2019s latest announcement carries forward that legacy by formally recognising the invaluable role of private school teachers.
