Says public concerns ignored as leadership debates BJP ties<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Srinagar, Oct 26 (KNO): Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi on Sunday said that no meaningful political or administrative progress has taken place in Jammu and Kashmir since the formation of the new government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere have been no positive steps on political issues in J&K since this government took charge,\u201d Larvi said, while speaking at the 4th Halla Bolle Conclave at Radisson Collection, Srinagar, hinting at his support for fellow party leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi\u2019s criticism over the NC government’s failure in upholding its 2024 poll promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should introspect and focus on governance rather than rhetoric. \u201cIt will be wrong if I say Omar Sahib is on the right track\u2014that would be deceiving him. He must see what rights and limits he has and how he can better serve the people who elected him,\u201d Larvi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NC MP said Kashmir\u2019s political leadership has become consumed by debates over who aligns with or opposes the BJP, while people\u2019s concerns remain ignored. \u201cThe Chief Minister should be the one talking about the people\u2019s welfare,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Criticising the government for failing to start recruitment drives, Larvi said thousands of educated youth in J&K are growing hopeless. \u201cMany have postgraduate and PhD degrees, but there has been no recruitment yet. The process should have started from day one with advertisements issued to recruitment agencies,\u201d he said, adding that it is the duty of elected representatives to raise public issues and fight for their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reacting to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah\u2019s remarks on smart meter installation, Larvi said, \u201cIt would be better for Omar Sahib to speak thoughtfully and with understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Deputy Chief Minister\u2019s comments targeting Aga Ruhullah, Larvi remarked, \u201cEveryone knows who Aga Ruhullah is. Anyone speaking against him will not harm his credibility.\u201d\u2014(KNO)“`<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
