Srinagar 4 Nov : Social and political activist Waqar H. Bhatti announced his resignation from the Apni Party, citing personal reasons. Addressing the media after his recent release from Kathua Jail, where he had been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA), Bhatti expressed deep respect for the party leadership and extended his best wishes to the Party President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhatti said he joined the Apni Party about a year ago but decided to step down due to personal circumstances. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving society as an independent social and political activist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized the importance of youth participation in mainstream politics, saying it is the most effective path to social progress and better governance. \u201cThe youth should not distance themselves from mainstream politics,\u201d he stated. \u201cActive participation can lead to a brighter and more accountable future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhatti appealed to the Central Government to review the cases of young individuals detained under the PSA. \u201cMany of them want to live peaceful lives. Their families are suffering. They should be given a chance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also urged the youth to avoid actions or statements that could disrupt communal harmony or invite legal consequences. \u201cWe must be part of the solution, not contributors to the problem,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhatti criticized political leaders for exploiting the issue of detainees for personal or party gains. \u201cNo political party has genuinely supported these young people in jail,\u201d he said. \u201cI request the government to show compassion and give them an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
