Jammu: J&K BJP spokesperson Dr Tahir Chowdhary has come out strongly against what he calls \u201cirresponsible and dangerous attempts\u201d to give the Delhi blast a communal colour, asserting that the explosion near Red Fort was a terror attack on India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reacting to the latest findings in the ongoing probe, Dr Chowdhary said the fresh forensic evidence, CCTV analysis and recent arrests leave no room for ambiguity about the nature of the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the explosion that tore through a Hyundai i20 near Gate No. 1 of the Lal Qila Metro Station was engineered to cause maximum panic and disruption in one of Delhi\u2019s busiest heritage zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople must understand this clearly \u2014 the attackers did not target Hindus or Muslims. They targeted India. They targeted every citizen who believes in peace. Terror has no religion, and attempts to link this incident to any community, especially Muslims, are completely baseless,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Chowdhary stressed that the choice of location was deliberate. \u201cRed Fort is where the country looks every Independence Day. It is a symbol of our democracy and unity. Striking in its shadow is meant to send a message to the nation. That message has nothing to do with communal identity \u2014 it has everything to do with destabilising India,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appreciating the coordinated efforts of the NIA, Special Cell, NSG and forensic teams, he said the investigation is steadily tightening the net around those involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forensic teams have analysed explosive residues, soil samples and directional impact patterns, while CCTV footage has captured the movements of a suspect seen moments before the blast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the arrests \u2014 including individuals detained from Pulwama \u2014 indicate a wider conspiracy and show that the attack was neither random nor impulsive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Calling the incident \u201ca planned terror strike aimed at a high-footfall area with immense national symbolism\u201d, Dr Chowdhary said invoking UAPA and other stringent provisions was not only justified but essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe nature of explosives, the manner of execution, the timings \u2014 everything points to an organised operation. This was a clear attempt to spread fear, not a communal provocation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Chowdhary urged the public not to fall for narratives that seek to divide people or demonise communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTerrorists want chaos. They want mistrust. They want to weaken our social fabric. Giving this attack a communal colour is exactly what they want. We cannot allow that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Praising the Delhi Police and central agencies for maintaining strict vigilance around heritage and market zones, he called for sustained public cooperation and calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis fight is against terror networks, not against any religion. India must remain united,\u201d he said.
He said that while the Lal Qila blast was a grim reminder of the threat India faces, it has also reaffirmed the country\u2019s resolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDelhi has moved ahead, but it has not forgotten. And India will not forgive those who tried to attack our spirit. Justice will be delivered \u2014 without fear, without bias and without delay,\u201d Dr Chowdhary said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
