In a significant achievement, J&K Police at Ganderbal has secured Life imprisonment for an accused involved in a grave offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The Conviction marks a major success in the Ganderbal Police\u2019s unwavering efforts to ensure justice for the victims of such heinous crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The accused, Varinder Thakur, son of Yadav Lal Thakur, resident of Sariswa, Bihar, has been awarded Life imprisonment along with a fine of \u20b950,000 by the Hon\u2019ble Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Ganderbal, under Section 06 of POCSO Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the above conviction, the accused has also been sentenced as under:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Section 342 IPC: 01 year imprisonment with a fine of \u20b91,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Section 506 IPC: 02 years imprisonment with a fine of \u20b92,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
