Srinagar 24 Jan :While the world races ahead and young people drift further from their roots, Saahil Ahmad Bhat, better known as Bhat Sahil, is heading the other way. He\u2019s pouring his energy into bringing Sufism and old Kashmiri literary traditions back to life, using digital platforms to reach a new generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhat Sahil comes from Turigam Devbough in Kulgam. For the last three years, he\u2019s run \u201cVoice of Sufism,\u201d a project that\u2019s basically become a lifeline for this fading heritage. He interviews Sufi elders, poets, artists, and scholars\u2014digging into their stories, their journeys, the ways they\u2019ve shaped Kashmiri culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His family, especially his parents, set him on this path. Growing up, his home was always alive with poetry and Sufi wisdom. That\u2019s where he found his respect for Kashmiri poets, and that\u2019s what keeps him motivated. For him, it\u2019s all about giving people who protect Kashmir\u2019s culture and spirituality a real platform\u2014somewhere their voices matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through \u201cVoice of Sufism,\u201d he\u2019s launched two main interview programs. There\u2019s Bazm-e-Mulakath, where he sits down with Sufi elders and poets, letting them share their spiritual journeys and the impact they\u2019ve had. Then there\u2019s Bazm-e-Twareekh, which dives into the stories behind important places and shrines, recording their history and spiritual weight for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhat Sahil isn\u2019t just archiving old tales\u2014he\u2019s reaching out to young people, urging them to rediscover Sufism and steer clear of destructive choices like drug abuse. He knows Sufism stands for peace, tolerance, and really knowing yourself. He believes these values can help guide young people into more meaningful lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through it all, Bhat Sahil is building a bridge from Kashmir\u2019s Sufi past straight to today\u2019s youth. He\u2019s keeping the spirit of love, harmony, and pride in their culture very much alive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
