Anantnag, September 6:: Senior National Conference leader and Vice President of the party\u2019s Anantnag unit, Imran Shah, continued his political outreach and engagement with the youth by visiting Sunsooma in Anantnag, where he welcomed several young people into the National Conference and interacted with local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the gathering, Imran Shah said that the youth remain at the centre of the vision and policy priorities of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the National Conference-led government. He said the government is committed to creating greater opportunities for the younger generation across key sectors, including employment, entrepreneurship, sports, skill development, arts and other creative fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shah said that the government under Omar Abdullah is actively working to address the aspirations and concerns of the youth and create an enabling environment where young people can pursue their ambitions and build a secure and dignified future within Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasised that expanding employment opportunities and promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment are important components of the government\u2019s broader youth-oriented agenda. He said greater support for young entrepreneurs can help encourage innovation, strengthen the local economy and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting the importance of sports, Shah said the government\u2019s focus on strengthening sports infrastructure and expanding opportunities for participation is aimed at providing young athletes with better facilities, professional training and platforms to compete at higher levels. He said the development of modern sports infrastructure and Centres of Excellence would help nurture sporting talent across Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shah also highlighted the growing potential of the creative sector, particularly among young people. Referring to the upcoming International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir, he said the initiative represents an important opportunity for the youth to explore avenues beyond conventional employment and build careers in art, culture, cinema, filmmaking and entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the inaugural International Film Festival, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10, would provide emerging filmmakers, students and young creative talent an opportunity to interact with national and international filmmakers, participate in masterclasses and workshops, and gain valuable exposure to the wider film industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shah said that empowering the youth is essential for the social and economic progress of Jammu and Kashmir and expressed confidence that the younger generation would play a decisive role in shaping a peaceful, progressive and prosperous future for the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
