One prominent name among them is that of Engineer Malik Yaseen Hassan Sahib, who is a well-known socio-political activist, legal advisor, protector of human rights and public spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have obtained a degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and have been at the forefront of welfare, social and relief work in the Valley continuously since 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*1. Spokesperson of the Grassroots Administration<\/strong>*
You are the Legal Advisor and Spokesperson of the All Jammu and Kashmir Lamberdar and Chowkidar Association (District Baramulla). You have always raised your voice for the rights of these basic administrative workers – whether it is the demand for increase in honorarium, the issue of permanent employment or the matter of timely payment of salaries. Your legal struggle has given a strong voice to this marginalized section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*2. Jihad Against Drugs Through Sports<\/strong>*
As the General Secretary of Narwah Sports Association, you have made sports a weapon to save the youth from the curse of drugs. You organize cricket tournaments, develop playgrounds and are attracting youth towards healthy activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*3. The Historic Struggle of Identity<\/strong>*
The most difficult chapter of your life is linked to your name. Your birth name was Yaseen Malik. Due to complete similarity of name with a well-known separatist leader of the Valley, you had to face severe difficulties, interrogation and mental torture at security check posts for years. To live a peaceful civilian life, you legally changed your name to Malik Yaseen Hassan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your unique and painful struggle was prominently highlighted by national and international media, including BBC and Voice of Germany (Yusuf Jameel), Force Magazine (Ghazala Wahab), Open Magazine (Rahul Pandita 2010), Indian Express (Mir Ehsan), Times of India (2001) and Hindustan Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*4. With the Nation in Every Calamity<\/strong>*
Your role in humanitarian service has been exemplary. During the 2005 Uri earthquake, you provided medical aid and kitchen kits for more than 200 affected families. In the terrible flood of 2014, you yourself remained trapped in deep water in Srinagar for four days, but as soon as you came out, you took over the leadership of relief camps in collaboration with an NGO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of your selfless services and environmental protection campaigns, you have been nominated for the India’s Unsung Heroes Award 2026, New Delhi and you have also been officially awarded a certificate of appreciation by the District Administration Baramulla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
