Baramulla Dec 08 : A blood donation camp was organised at GMC Associated Hospital Baramulla by youth leader JKPDP Yasir Naik, drawing an encouraging response from the community. More than 30 donors participated in the drive, contributing a total of 32 points of blood.
The camp was organised in coordination with the Department of IHBT, whose medical staff handled the screening, counselling and collection process. Their support, along with the help of volunteers and local residents, ensured that the event ran smoothly and comfortably for donors.
Speaking to the media, Yasir Naik thanked the participants for coming forward and said that initiatives like this are not a favour to anyone but an opportunity to serve. He added, “This is not a favour on anybody. It is our good luck that we get a chance to offer our service through such efforts.” He also stressed that regular blood donation drives are essential for meeting emergencies and routine requirements at GMC Baramulla.
PDP District president Rafique Rather along with the several senior party members, visited the camp and appreciated the initiative, calling it a positive example of youth participation in public service.
The organiser expressed gratitude to the staff of GMC Associated Hospital Baramulla and the Department of IHBT for their cooperation, and to all donors whose contribution made the camp a success.
The event ended with a brief interaction between the donors, party representatives and medical staff, with a shared commitment to keep working for community welfare.
