Beyond Labels, The Truth About Government Schools

✒️ :. Insha Shafiq

In our state govt schools are often considered as poor choice for the upbringing of children .Many parents try admitting their kids in High-end private schools to ensure that they get quality education .We often think that in private schools there are a number of facilities like good play grounds , labs , classrooms etc .we consider students of private schools smarter than the students of govt school .And we often think that the classes are not properly conducted in the govt schools.
And to be honest I used to think the same till I joined the government higher secondary school delina .
After qualifying class 10th exam when I was confronted with the question which higher secondary you want to join my answer was” no matter which higher secondary I choose they all will be the same for me because from now I just have to study by myself and honestly I was very much tense . I used to think in government schools only a few subjects would be taught seriously, while the rest would be ignored. Coming from a private school background, I had always been highly dependent on my school and teachers for my studies. Everything, from regular classes to guidance and academic planning, was provided for us, so the idea of shifting to a government school made me anxious. . But my family kept telling me that what I thought about govt schools was completely wrong and once I join Hss delina my entire perspective about govt schools will change .And it actually happened on my very first day
I saw a govt school fully organised, organised assembly, classes , and everything .I was shocked when I saw teachers scolding students for bunking classes because I used to think that govt schools are only to bunk classes

With the passage of time I realised that I was not able to spot any difference between the private school I came from and hss delina .when I looked at the teachers of hss I was amazed their dedication their efforts the way they try to provide quality education to students left me speech less. One special thing about our school is that our teachers are not only confined to their studies but they make sure that each and every student gets opportunities and platforms. They care for the students as if they are their own kids and this is what I never expected from govt schools

This journey completely changed my mind set .I have realised that quality education does not depend on the label of a school but dedication of teachers and determination of students
