PDP Youth Delegation from Baramulla Joins Protest Against 6.83% Electricity Tariff Hike

Baramulla, August 24, 2026: On the directions of the Party High Command, a delegation of youth from Baramulla, led by Yasir Naik, District Youth President Baramulla, participated in the protest organised at the Party Headquarters against the 6.83% hike in electricity tariffs announced by the government.

The delegation comprised Arif Sultanpori (District Youth Secretary), Hilal Ahmad (Zonal Youth President) and Mir Aehsan (District Youth Organiser) who joined senior party leaders and workers in the protest and raised their voice against the additional financial burden being imposed on the common people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The protest was addressed by senior party leadership, who strongly voiced their opposition to the tariff hike and highlighted the difficulties faced by ordinary consumers. The Baramulla Youth delegation participated with full energy and solidarity, amplifying the concerns of the people and standing firmly alongside the party leadership.

Speaking on the occasion, Yasir Naik said that the youth of Baramulla remain committed to standing with the people on issues that directly affect their daily lives. He said that the increase in electricity tariffs will further burden households already facing rising costs of living, particularly economically weaker sections.

The delegation reiterated its commitment to supporting the Party High Command in raising issues of public concern and ensuring that the voice of the common people of Jammu and Kashmir is heard at every appropriate platform.
