Healthy Tooth Extracted Instead of Infected One at Dental College Sgr

Srinagar, Feb 16, KNT: In a shocking case of alleged medical negligence, a Srinagar resident has accused a doctor at Dental College Srinagar of extracting the wrong tooth during a dental procedure.

Nadeem Ahmad, a 27-year-old patient, told Kashmir News Trust (KNT) that he had visited the Dental College seeking relief from acute toothache. However, instead of removing the problematic lower 8 (L8) tooth, the doctor mistakenly extracted his healthy upper eighth tooth.

Expressing distress over the incident, Nadeem Ahmad said he was left in shock and disappointment over the incident.

When contacted, Principal Dental College Dr. Aijaz confirmed that the matter has been taken up with Head of the Department (HoD) Dr. Irshad Misgar. “An investigation will be conducted, and if the doctor is found guilty, appropriate action will be taken,” he assured. [KNT]
