A gunfight has broken out between militants and security forces in Zachaldara Handwara. A militant has been killed thus far in the ongoing firefight.
An official told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that a joint team of security forces, including army, police and CRPF, launched an operation upon receiving specific inputs about presence of militants in Zachaldara area. “While zeroing in on the spot, the militants fired on the security forces, which is being effectively retaliated,” the official said, adding, “in the initial exchange of gunfire a militant has been neutralised”The exchange of gunfire continued, when this report was being filed.
