FIR Lodged in Beerwah for Disrupting Law & Order During Quds-Day Procession

A case has been registered against the organizers and participants of a Youm-e-Quds procession in Sonpah village, Beerwah, for allegedly raising objectionable slogans and disrupting law and order.According to officials, a large crowd gathered under the organizers’ directions and resorted to sloganeering, leading to a disruption in the area.

The Sonpah-Beerwah road was reportedly blocked, hindering the movement of the general public.Taking cognizance of the incident, Budgam Police have lodged an FIR No. 33/2025 at Beerwah police station under Sections 126(2) and 189(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against those involved.

Police have also urged citizens to maintain peace and refrain from any actions that could disturb public order. [KNT]
