Baramulla, Aug 12

Emerging poet and writer Rouf Yatoo, hailing from Audoora in the Narvaw area of Baramulla, has released his second book, Forbidden Rose. Known for his evocative style and profound thematic depth, Yatoo’s literary work delves into human emotions, the psyche, and the intricate nature of existence.

A student of literature, Yatoo is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in English literature, having earlier graduated from GDC Boys College, Baramulla. His intellectual interests extend beyond literature into history, Western classics, philosophy, Islamic studies, comparative religion, science, and mathematics—disciplines that shape the layered and reflective quality of his writing.

Yatoo’s debut poetry collection, Prickles in the Darkness (2024), earned him recognition as a distinctive voice in contemporary poetry. With over 150 poems to his credit, he continues to explore themes of love, longing, introspection, and spirituality through both poetry and prose.

The cover of Forbidden Rose has been designed by Sabia Javid. The book is now available for purchase on Amazon: https://amzn.in/d/2PzCa44.
