A major road safety scandal has surfaced after a school bus (JK01AG6711) ran over several cattle on the Kunzer highway. Official records confirm that the vehicle was operating illegally without a valid fitness certificate and permit.
The bus, meant for transporting students, had its fitness certificate expire on June 19, 2025, and its permit lapse on July 19, 2025, according to RTO records. This is a direct violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Viral images from the accident scene show the yellow bus with a dead animal beneath its bumper, sparking outrage and calls for stricter enforcement of school transport safety rules.
Experts warn that such lapses pose a serious threat to student safety. “If a vehicle is unfit to be on the road, it should never be carrying children,” said a road safety advocate. Authorities are now under pressure to investigate how the bus continued to operate despite expired documents.
