Explosion Injures Four Boys in Handwara Village

Handwara, Oct 29, KNT: Four boys sustained injuries after an explosion occurred in Tutigund village near the District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara, north Kashmir.

According to reports, the blast took place when a group of children was playing cricket in an open field. The injured have been identified as Uzair Tahir, son of Tahir Ahmad Bhat; Sajid Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Sofi; Hazim Shabir, son of Shabir Ahmad Beigh; and Zeyan Tahir, son of Tahir Ahmad Bhat — all inhabitants of Tutigund Kulangam.

All four injured boys were shifted to GMC Handwara for medical treatment. Their condition was stated to be stable.

Police have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation to ascertain the nature and source of the explosion. [KNT]
