Baramulla, November 9: Police in Baramulla carried out a series of coordinated operations across the district to strengthen preventive measures against anti-national and law-violating elements while ensuring community safety.
During these operations, 25 properties linked with PoK- and Pakistan-based Kashmiri natives were searched. From these locations, 19 individuals were bound down under preventive provisions of law. Additionally, 22 properties associated with overground workers (OGWs) were searched, resulting in 17 OGWs being bound down and 3 detained under preventive laws.
Police also searched 6 properties belonging to individuals booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) who are currently on bail. Three OGWs were bound down, and two others were detained.
Furthermore, 73 SIM card vendors were inspected to ensure compliance with subscriber verification norms. Police checked 208 vehicles at various checkpoints along the National Highway and other key routes, and 14 cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) were conducted simultaneously.
These actions were carried out in a coordinated manner to ensure that no individual or group can disturb peace and order in the district. The Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirmed their firm commitment to maintaining law and order and taking strict action against anyone attempting to disrupt peace.
