Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday morning carried out a raid at Jamia Islamia Institute in Waripora following what officials described as “credible inputs” about suspected unlawful activities and possible links with banned organisations.
As learnt by GNS, several electronic devices were recovered during the operation and have been seized for forensic examination. “Investigators are analysing the material to determine its use and to verify any suspected connections, including potential links with the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI),” said a Police spokesperson.
He further said the action is part of ongoing efforts to curb activities that may threaten law and order or national security. “Handwara Police remains committed to acting firmly against individuals or entities involved in unlawful or anti-national activities,” the spokesperson said, adding that all procedures are being followed strictly in accordance with the law.
