Bandipora: ARTO Fines Vehicle Rs 5,000 for Traffic Violation, Licence Cancellation Initiated

Bandipora:The Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Bandipora has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on a vehicle for violating traffic norms and endangering public safety, officials said on Tuesday.

According to officials, the action was taken after the vehicle was found being driven in a manner that posed a serious risk to other road users. Following the violation, the driver along with the vehicle, has been directed to report to the ARTO Office Bandipora for further proceedings as per law.

In addition to the monetary penalty, the transport department has initiated action for cancellation of the driver’s licence under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Officials said that such measures are necessary to curb reckless driving and to ensure discipline on roads.

ARTO Bandipora reiterated that strict enforcement drives will continue across the district against violators who flout traffic rules and compromise public safety. The department urged motorists to strictly follow traffic regulations to safeguard their own lives as well as the lives of others. [KNT]
