Respected Sir,
Honourable Chief Minister
UT of Jammu & Kashmir,
It is disheartening to observe that Kashmir’s representation in the judiciary is alarmingly low. Out of 124 candidates shortlisted for viva-voce / interview a mere 13 are from Kashmir, suggesting that the region may not see a kashmiri judge for the next thirty years.
The aspirants from kashmir had not gone to their examination hall to play any indoor games.
The kashmiri students too had been indoors for about two years burning their midnight oil but on 20 jan 2026 they all had to cut a sorry figure as shown as unsuccessful by jkPSc.
Important to note that a few students among the lot have missed the bus last year in viva voce and so meaning they had qualified both preliminary as well as Mains in the last year and this time despite more hard work, smart efforts having excelled their potential had to watch unexpected ,unbelievable results.
About 600 students appeared in the Mains from kashmir and out of this large number only 13 candidates were declared successful for their interview. This is blatantly fishy.
Each candidate has to face 10 papers and as such the PSC had to evaluate about 10,000 papers, to compile the results and make it ready , to be announced ,this whole process stands to have accomplished within one month.
This process of evaluation ,a serious responsibility is not humanly possible by any Agency to be completed within a month but jkPS shows this feat too
A few questions arise ..
Are kashmiri students so poor in academics that out of 600 candidates having appeared in their Mains after declared to have qualified their Preliminary examination only 13 candidates could pass it ?
Among these 13 candidates from kashmir , this part is certain that none among them is from south or central kashmir. Who are they ? The situation highly points out every likelihood of them too from the reserved class.
A tactful series till now to exclude representation of common kashmiri from the coveted positions despite their speaking potential definitely raises questions of the existence of kashmiris , (migrants excluded ) to live with dignity.
Sir, truth is bitter and how long. common kashmiri will shy from telling the truth.
Very recently poor communal ,regional biased approach pleaded and celebrated by jammutues came fore in the allocation of MBBS seats in SMVD university..
In the series of facts , as a common kashmiri this letter is addressed to your goodself to kindly be the voice of oppressed kashmiri students .and let make transparency visible and speaking from the jkPSC.
with regards
