✒️:. Adv Ghazi Rahil Banday
The loss of a young son and brother is among the most heartbreaking trials a family can endure. It is a grief that settles deep within the chest — unseen by the world, yet heavy enough to bend even the strongest shoulders. With profound sorrow and tearful hearts, we mourn the untimely passing of Advocate Mohammad Arif Khan, who returned to his Creator on 24 February 2026 at Rajpora Chandoosa, Baramulla, following a sudden cardiac arrest.
Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return. While this eternal truth comforts the believer, the pain of separation from a beloved soul remains deeply human. The departure of Advocate Arif Khan has left behind a silence that words struggle to fill and a void that will be felt for years to come.
Advocate Mohammad Arif Khan was widely known in our area as a humble, kind, and deeply compassionate person. He possessed a softness of heart that reflected in every interaction and a dignity that naturally earned him respect. He never sought attention, yet his character quietly spoke for him. Those who knew him remember a man who carried himself with grace, sincerity, and genuine concern for others.
What truly distinguished him was his gentle speech and polite manner. In an age where harsh words often come easily, he chose kindness. His tongue was soft, his tone respectful, and his approach always thoughtful. Whether speaking to elders, peers, or those seeking his professional help, he maintained a level of courtesy that left a lasting impression. Many found comfort simply in the calm and reassuring way he communicated.
Beyond his profession, Advocate Mohammad Arif Khan was known for his helpful nature. He never hesitated to stand beside those in need — offering legal guidance, personal support, or even just a listening ear. His assistance was never for recognition; it came from a sincere and generous heart. Quietly and without show, he eased the burdens of many in the community. Such acts of kindness are the true wealth a person carries into the Hereafter.
For his respected father, Mohammad Afzal Khan, this loss is nothing short of back-breaking grief. A father’s dreams are often woven silently around his children, and when a young son is taken so suddenly, the test is immense. May Allah grant him sabr-e-jameel and replace his pain with the promise of reunion in Jannah.
For his beloved mother, the sorrow is even more tender and immeasurable. A mother carries her child beneath her heart and then within it for the rest of her life. The prayers she whispered for his safety and success now return as tears of longing. Only Allah fully knows the depth of a mother’s grief. May He envelope her in His mercy and grant her strength beyond what hearts can bear.
His brothers — Master Tariq Ahmad Khan, Israr Khan, and Yasir Khan — have lost not only a sibling but a companion of their life’s journey. The memories of shared laughter, struggles, and brotherhood now carry the weight of absence. May Allah unite their hearts upon patience and reward them abundantly for their endurance.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us that when a believer departs, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and righteous supplication from those who remember him. Without doubt, Advocate Mohammad Arif Khan has left behind countless hearts that sincerely pray for him — a testament to the kindness he showed in his lifetime.
Today, the community of Rajpora Chandoosa and beyond stands in shared grief with the bereaved family. Words may fall short, but sincere duas rise to the heavens. We humbly pray that Allah ﷻ forgives Advocate Mohammad Arif Khan, overlooks his shortcomings, expands and illuminates his grave, and grants him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous without reckoning.
May Allah grant sabr-e-jameel to his respected parents, his brothers, relatives, friends, and all who mourn him. May his humility, gentle speech, and helping hands continue to earn reward for him in the Hereafter.
Indeed, bodies return to dust — but beautiful character lives on in the hearts of people forever.
Ameen Ya Rabb al-‘Alameen.
